A poem for penny, Lovely was she by the dawn, Youthful Penny, charming Penny, Tripping over the pearly lawn, The youthful, charming Penny, The feathered people you might see, Perched all around on every tree, In notes of sweetest melody, They hail the charming Penny, Till painting happy the eastern skies The glorious sun began to rise, Out-rivalled by your radiant eyes Of youthful, charming Penny, Lovely was she.
