My first thoughts of Penny were as a 2-day-old baby. Denise and Ray had returned from Germany so Denise could give birth to her first daughter on British soil. I as a long time friend of Denise and also a drinking buddy called around to welcome Penny home from the hospital. My memories of Penny as a 2 day old baby to her 17th birthday were that she was always happy content never one to complain, and always pleased to see you. As she grew she began to look more and more like her mam, she inherited those chubby cheeks a family trait, passed down from her grandma. Penny blossomed into a real princess she was every parents dream child, beautiful, charming, good natured shy yet always polite with a modesty which complimented her good looks, Penny was a pleasure to be with. Between Penny's treatments she expressed her wish to go to Haggeston castle near Berwick upon Tweed. Feeling a lot better she spent had an enjoyable weekend surrounded by her family including her sister Sandy our daughter Sam. Sleeping conditions in the caravan were quite cramped and Penny had to sleep in the awning of the caravan, she never complained and managed to keep warm with the help of a heater a bottle of WKD and of course her boyfriend Johnny. Penny's illness got worse and I will never forget the day the news of Penny passing away it was like a thunderbolt, the sadness that I feel that such a wonderful persons young life had been cruelly taken away, Its so hard to put into words. Our love and respect goes to Denise Ray and Sandy for the strength they have shown. Penny you will live in our hearts forever.
